The ranking of an educational institution is a tangible measure of the success of a university in carrying out Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Education comprising education, research, and community service). Aside from differing opinions about their objectivity, university rankings reflect the standing, image, and reputation of a university at the regional and global levels. The assessments in international rankings are conducted based on various indicators and specific criteria that are periodically calibrated in order to produce a comprehensive and balanced comparison in regards to teaching, research, as well as international reputation. Among other international university rankings, Universitas Indonesia has been actively participating in QS Graduate Employability Rankings, a globally renowned ranking held by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) with a focus on the performance and prospect of the graduates of a higher education institution.
